"Letters of Heresy" by Stefan Markovski is a sophisticated novel that fully meets the criteria of our time, namely the demands of the modern reading public, thirsty for works in which they will guess part of the secrets within themselves from the space between the spirit and the body, between tenderness and roughness, and from the intermediate space between reality and fiction between desire and realization.
The novel mainly depicts the social life of the main character in an environment that does not provide a decent existence, and which engages in crime for the sake of crime, according to the principle of art for the sake of art, for the sake of the criminal not so much in oneself as in others, for the sake of the artistic as much in us as in others, for the sake of empathy, in conditions in which the destruction of others is the only way to climb the social-economic ladder.
“A novel that represents a turning point in the course of the new Macedonian prose.”
