Biography
Elena has two undergraduate degrees. One in the field of linguistics, at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, and the other in linguistics at the Consorzio ICoN, Italy. The title of her graduate thesis at the Blaze Koneski Faculty of Philology was Interculturality in Teaching Foreign Languages. Her fields of interest include the link between language and culture, as well as designing new methods for teaching foreign languages. She has worked on linguistic research at the University of California, Berkley and she has been involved in a number of projects for improving foreign language instruction in the country.
Filipovska has been working as a language instructor and researcher since 2001. She has worked as an instructor of Italian and Macedonian for foreigners at a number of private and state educational centers, including the Josip Broz-Tito secondary school in Skopje and the Blaže Koneski Faculty of Philology in Skopje. Since establishing the Skazalka Language Center in 2014, her sole focus has been teaching Macedonian and Italian to foreigners.
