Biography
Vladimir Jankovski (b. 1977, Skopje) has graduated General and Comparative literature at the Faculty of Philology „Blaže Koneski“ in Skopje. He worked as an editor in several publishing houses. Currently he is working in the Macedonian center for literature.
He has published seven books: Cabinet of wonders with Walls of Mirrors: talks with Vlada Urošević (2023), Hidden Desires, Unrest Travels (novel, 2020), Invisible Loves (novel, 2015), Eternal Present Time (novel, 2010), The Faces of the Invisible City (photoessays, with Ivan Blažev, 2010), Skopje with Eyes Wide Open (photoessay, with Ivan Blažev, 2008) and Mirrow for the Puzzle; talks with Vlada Urošević (2008).
For the novel Hidden Desires, Unrest Travels he was awarded with “The Novel of the Year Award” and was the Macedonian candidate for the European Union Prize for Literature, and for the novel Invisible Loves awarded with “Racin’s Acknowledgement” award.
He is active in the field of literary translation.
